A proud resident of Montréal, Quebec, I've been fascinated by languages, words, and communication for as long as I can remember. While I've also studied Spanish and German, my first love is French; I completed a master's degree in French literature at the University of British Columbia before doing a master's degree in translation at Université de Montréal. I've been a freelance translator, writer, and reviser for over thirty years and taught advanced French-English translation, literary translation, and writing techniques for translators at McGill University in Montréal, Quebec, for twenty-six years.

For me, quality always trumps quantity: delivering excellent, personalized client service is the foundation of my business.

I understand the importance of knowing my clients, their corporate culture, and their objectives so as to be able to serve them well - delivering their message to the English-speaking community in a way that is clear, effective, and idiomatic. In fact, my English translations are often seen as improvements over the originals, leading to changes and adjustments to the French.

I have twice served on juries for major translation awards, and in 2015 my translation of La Turquie et le fantôme arménien (Turkey and the Armenian Ghost: On the Trail of the Genocide) won the Cole Foundation Prize for Translation - French to English presented by the Quebec Writers' Federation.
